The Water crisis
Every year, we waste over 320 billion cubic metres of reusable water, while pollution from concrete and chemicals affects what’s left of it.
Urban development has replaced green space with hard surfaces, stopping nature from doing its job. If nothing changes, over half the world’s population could be affected by poor water management by 2030.
This crisis isn’t far away. It’s happening now, in our streets, our systems, and our taps. And if design can be part of the problem, it can also be part of the solution. That’s what Blue Pulse is all about!
The solution
But luckily there are solutions! As you may know, we get plenty of rain in Britain. What if we used it?
Blue Pulse explores how water can be collected and filtered to provide clean water for your dog to drink. No more park puddle water for our 4 legged friends!
What difference does it make? We position ourselves as a bridge, connecting urban issues like water waste with real-world design solutions.
By turning public needs into built experiments, we aim to influence how the industry responds, innovates, and builds — starting now.
Harvest and Filter System
Our water treatment system uses a of vernacular filtration strategies combined with traditional water harvesting techniques
Blended into an organic futuristic design, we aim to show that ancient techniques can still be adapted into the future of our urban lanscapes.
Our filter contains:
- Carbon granules
- Gravel
- Sand
- Zeolite
- Copper meshing
